Military historian candidate is first recipient of Air Vice Marshal Keith Hodson Scholarship

– A student of Canadian military history is the first to receive the Air Vice Marshal Hodson Scholarship. Hodson was an RCAF Spitfire pilot who flew 120 missions with RAF Fighter Command in 1941, earning two Distinguished Flying Crosses.

Canadian Armed Forces Participates in Exercise TALISMAN SABRE

– “At the moment, I haven’t seen many insects, no snakes, no spiders and no drop bears,” Lieutenant (Navy) Carl-Alexander Marcoux, a Logistics Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, notes jokingly after arriving at Queensland, Australia. He is one of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members working within the Exercise TALISMAN SABRE staff. Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Regina with an embarked CH-148 Cyclone, along with supply ship MV Asterix, are also participating in the exercise from July 11 to 24, 2019.

CAF crew honoured to join history and celebrate diversity at elite rowing regatta

– “Your achievement is a badge of honour for life, and your names will always be on the pages of history.” That’s how LCdr Peter Reed, OBE, three-time Olympic rowing gold medalist and five-time rowing world champion for Britain, described the accomplishment of King’s Cup rowers, including a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) crew comprised of Officer cadets, Naval cadets and recent graduates of the Royal Military College of Canada, at this year’s Henley Royal Regatta in England, July 5-7.

CAF member on target for Pan Am Games

Kandahar Cenotaph rededication announced

– The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Department of National Defence (DND) are holding a rededication of the Kandahar Cenotaph in the Afghanistan Memorial Hall in Ottawa, with the families of the Fallen and other invited guests in attendance. It will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2019.

Kings Cup 2019 : Team Canada

– The King’s Cup at Henley Royal Regatta will be a race between eight military forces which honours the past, cements and contributes to the Alliances of today and builds towards the future; The King’s Cup will see crews from the original six nations that raced in 1919, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, the UK and the USA, joined by Germany and the Netherlands.
