Defence Team celebrates Pride 2019

Rear Admiral Luc Cassivi of the Royal Canadian Navy, and current CAF Co-Champion for Gender and Diversity for Operations, was invited to be the 2019 Kingston Pride Parade Grand Marshall. The RAdm is currently the Commander of the Canadian Defense Academy, headquartered at CFB Kingston. *** Le contre-amiral Luc Cassivi, de la Marine royale canadienne, et actuel co-champion des opérations pour les femmes et les hommes dans les FAC, a été invité à être le Grand Marshall du défilé de la fierté de Kingston en 2019. Le Cam est actuellement commandant de l'Académie canadienne de la défense, dont le siège est à la BFC Kingston.

The LGBTQ2 community takes part in Pride Month, celebrating sexual diversity and equal rights, as well as focusing awareness on the issues faced by those within their community. Parades and other community events take place throughout the summer.

To celebrate Pride 2019, members of the Defence Team can submit photos to: +Internal Communications internes@ADM(PA)@Ottawa-Hull. All photos must be accompanied by:

  • Sender’s name, email, contact phone number and rank, if applicable. Please use your @forces.gc.ca email address.
  • A brief caption that describes the photo and includes the location/date the image was taken. (150 words max.)

Images may be featured across our platforms, including The Maple Leaf, the Defence Team Intranet, and all of our social media accounts.
