Corporal (retired) Jean Elizabeth Martin (née Kines), who served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Women’s Division from 1942 to 1945, celebrated her 100th birthday on October 20, 2018. Born in Tummel, Manitoba, she was one of more than 17,000 women who served during the Second World War. Mrs. Martin, who enlisted on February 5, 1942, worked as a cook in Borden, Ontario, and Patricia Bay, British Columbia (the current home of 12 Wing’s 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron) . . . .
