Watch the April 25 episode of Defence Team News!
In this episode, we highlight:
- Exercise INNOVE; and
- the Aerospace Innovation Forum
Welcome back to Defence Team News. I’m Lt(N) Jamie Bresolin.
And I’m Shelley Van Hoof. Here are the headlines at Defence.
Exercise INNOVE took place in Montreal, Saint-Jean, Valcartier, and at the Citadelle in Quebec earlier this month.
Consisting of a series of conferences and workshops within 2nd Canadian Division and Joint Task Force East, the exercise offered an opportunity for participants to express and learn how to advance their ideas related to innovation.
The event also included an update from the DND Blueprint 2020 Secretariat on national initiatives, as well as the launch of the Deputy Minister’s Defence Team Innovation Challenge: a Dragon’s Den-style challenge where the top ideas from across the country will compete for funding of up to one million dollars.
The Aerospace Innovation Forum recently took place in Montreal as part of International Aerospace Week.
The forum brings together aerospace stakeholders and approximately 1,500 individuals from around the world to discuss innovation, best practices, and generate business opportunities amongst participants.
Major-General Alain Pelletier, Chief of the Fighter Capability Program, participated in a panel on disruptive technologies and the main defence aerospace platforms of today and tomorrow.
In addition, a session discussing the new Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security program, or IDEaS, also took place. IDEaS is looking to Canadians to submit their best innovation solutions to some key challenges facing the CAF. For more information on IDEaS, visit the Defence Team intranet site.
That’s it for us. Thank you so much for watching. See you next time…
