What is my favourite emoji? Doesn’t everyone love the poop emoji?

Hi there, I’m Stephen Burt. I’m the Assistant Chief of Defence Intelligence within the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command and I’m here today to take the ’60 Seconds Challenge’.

What are your hobbies? I’m a lapsed runner, to be honest. I run, I ski, I read whenever I can, so yeah, I like to get outside.

What is the Blueprint 2020 Vision? The Blueprint 2020 Vision is that the government will be recognized as having the best people working for it that will make smart use of technology and that will strive for nimble, innovative processes and systems across the government of Canada, so that we can continue to drive progress for Canada and for Canadians.

What is the Defence Team Innovation Challenge? The Defence Team Innovation Challenge is still under development, but it’s an initiative by our Deputy Minister to try and get employees to come forward with new innovative ideas based on things that have been done in other departments and agencies. So we’re going to have up to a million dollars available for groups, teams, and individuals to come forward with ideas. And if you’re idea gets approved, in front of some form of a ‘Dragon’s Den’, then we’ll be able to get funding and some support to actually develop those ideas by the teams that are pitching them.

And I’m out.
