Hundreds of Logistics Branch members gathered at Cartier Square Drill Hall in Ottawa on February 2 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the branch.

“Today we celebrate 50 years of excellence,” announced Lieutenant-General Chuck Lamarre, Commander, Military Personnel Command and Senior Canadian Armed Forces Logistician.

The Year of the Logistician was officially launched on January 26 at NDHQ (Carling) by LGen Lamarre. The festivities on February 2 marked the anniversary with a cake, speeches, and a presentation highlighting the multitude of talents in the branch.

Major-General (Retired) Mark McQuillan, Logistics Branch Colonel Commandant, paid a special tribute to the branch and its personnel with his visit. Additionally, the Logistician flag made its grand arrival into the Drill Hall after months of travelling to bases and mission posts around the world. This was only a quick stop in Ottawa before continuing its tour across Canada.

Various events will be held throughout the year to celebrate this 50th anniversary. For more information, please visit the Logistics Branch website.
