(Jamie) Welcome back to Defence Team News. I’m Lt(N) Jamie Bresolin.
(Ronald) And I’m Ronald Edma. Here are the headlines at Defence.
It’s Security Awareness Week, the annual event that encourages departments to promote and share good security practices government-wide.
Security is our Defence – GOAL ZĒRØ, is the central theme highlighting the importance of reducing security incidents to zero within National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces.
All Defence Team members are encouraged to take this opportunity to increase their vigilance and to promote departmental security services.
Visit the Security Awareness Week Intranet page for more information, announcements, and tools to keep the threat out of the net!
(J) The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service recently charged the Chief Military Judge, Colonel Mario Dutil, with an act of a fraudulent nature and conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline under the National Defence Act.
The charges relate to offences committed between November 2014 and October 2015.
Judge Advocate General, Commodore Geneviève Bernatchez, recently addressed these charges:
(Cmdre Bernatchez) Today’s announcement serves to remind us that, as in the civilian justice system, no one is above the law. All Canadian Armed Forces members, regardless of their rank or position, remain subject to the Code of Service Discipline.
(R) That’s it for us. Thank you so much for watching. See you next time…
